Welcome and once again I would like to thank you for visiting our website which aims to inform about various things about the insurance sector in the country but also to explain the performance of the Authority. As you can see in this website, the Authority continues to putting in place an enabling environment for individuals who wish to invest in the insurance business being the Government's goal to make its citizens to participate in financial matters in general.

The Authority in collaboration with the insurance sector stakeholders are implementing the National Financial Sector Development Master Plan 2020/2021 – 2029/2030. As part of this plan, the insurance sub-sector has the responsibility to ensure that insurance services is extended to larger number of population that is to reach 80 percent of Tanzanians by the year 2030.

In taking steps to implement Government’s instructions on financial sector development, the Authority has recently issued guidelines (uploaded on this website) which if used by insurance service providers in the country, citizens and various investors will be able to achieve the Government's goal of promoting the financial sector by that year.

The authority will continue to build a better system to ensure that the insurance service is reliable, professionally provided, to deliver services to rural areas at a low cost. However, all these will be able to achieve success for various stakeholders to ensure that the market is free of fraud, competitive, professional and profitable for investors.
