The Commissioner of Insurance (COI), Dr. Baghayo A. Saqware, participated in the 25th Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) Council of Ministers, the 50th Task Force of Senior Officials, and the 8th AML/CFT Public–Private Dialogue held at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The meetings, hosted by the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, reaffirmed the region’s commitment to strengthening financial integrity, enhancing governance, and advancing compliance with AML/CFT international standards. Member States also reviewed the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) activity report and discussed progress under the International Cooperation Review Group (ICRG) process, highlighting the importance of collective action in safeguarding regional economies.
