TIRA Celebrates Double Milestone: Market Report Launch and Bima House Inauguration

The dual event, graced by Hon. Saada Mkuya Salum; Minister of State, President's Office, Finance and Planning Zanzibar, brought together key stakeholders from the insurance industry, government institutions, and development partners to celebrate the remarkable progress of Tanzania’s insurance sector.
Speaking during the ceremony, Commissioner of Insurance, Dr. Baghayo Saqware, highlighted six key achievements recorded in 2024, including digital transformation of insurance systems, increased market penetration, enhanced regulatory compliance, and growth in premium volumes. He emphasized that the newly launched Bima House symbolizes TIRA’s commitment to efficiency, transparency, and improved service delivery.
Hon. Mkuya commended TIRA for its leadership in strengthening the insurance sector, noting that the 2024 report provides valuable insights for investors, policymakers, and the public. She reiterated the government’s support for TIRA’s initiatives aimed at deepening insurance awareness and inclusion across the country.
The new TIRA Bima House, a state-of-the-art facility, will serve as a central hub for regulatory operations, industry engagement, and innovation. The event was concluded with a tour of the new premises and the official unveiling of the 2024 Insurance Market Performance Report.
