INSURANCE EDUCATION FOR THE YOUNGER GENERATION: BAOBAB STUDENTS VISIT TIRA TO LEARN ABOUT INSURANCE AWARENESS
Students from Baobab Secondary School, visited the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) today, August 9, 2024, with the aim of learning about the Authority's responsibilities and the overall importance of insurance.
Through a hands-on learning program, popularly known as the 'Study Tour,' the students had the opportunity to participate in capacity-building training sessions conducted by insurance experts, including Ms. Irene Horera, Quality Officer; Mr. Ali Khalifan, Insurance Statistician; and Mr. Lusungu Mbilinyi, Insurance Officer.
The students had the chance to learn about various activities carried out by the Authority, the importance of having insurance, and the different opportunities available in the insurance sector. The knowledge they gained aims to provide them with a deep understanding of insurance matters so that they can become effective ambassadors of insurance among their fellow students.
TIRA consistently emphasizes the importance of insurance education, starting with young people, so that as they grow, they recognize the importance and benefits of having insurance.
In its efforts to ensure that all Tanzanians have access to insurance education, this initiative aligns with the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority's (TIRA) sustainable strategies to build generations with a strong understanding of insurance, ultimately making them users of insurance services and products,
