INSURANCE CELEBRATIONS A SUCCESS IN ZANZIBAR: “THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT TURN A BLIND EYE TO UNINSURED VEHICLES” – HON. ZENA SAID
The Insurance Regulatory Authority, through its Zanzibar office, today, Saturday, August 31, held Insurance Day celebrations that included a voluntary walk aimed at raising awareness about insurance education on the islands.
The walk started from the Kisonge Tower field in Michenzani and proceeded to the Mao Zedong field, where the celebrations took place.
The Guest of Honor at the event was Hon. Engineer Zena Said, the Secretary General of the Revolutionary Council and Chief Secretary of Zanzibar.
Hon. Zena Said stated, “The government cannot turn a blind eye to uninsured vehicles; we will work with other institutions to ensure they do not enter the roads. I also urge government leaders to insure their properties.”
The event was also attended by the Commissioner of Insurance Tanzania, Dr. Baghayo Saqware, and the Deputy Commissioner of Insurance Tanzania, Ms. Khadija Said, along with Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, and various stakeholders in the insurance sector.
The Insurance Walk in Zanzibar is an annual event organized to raise awareness about the importance of insurance in Zanzibar. This event has been conducted in collaboration with stakeholders in the insurance sector.
