On August 07, 2023, Mr. Samuel Mwiru, the Director of Research and Marketing at the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA), participated in the distribution of a check to tobacco farmers worth USD 33,537.88 (equivalent to approximately TZS 80,000,000). The check was presented by the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) through Jubilee Allianz Insurance Company under the leadership of its Director, Mr. Bipankar Acharya, who was present at the event, positioned third from the right. The brief ceremony took place at the JKT Hall within the Nanenane grounds in the city of Mbeya and was attended by various stakeholders in agriculture and insurance, including representatives from cooperative associations.

During the event, the Director of the Insurance Regulatory Authority encouraged farmers to continue utilizing agricultural insurance services, as they provide compensation for losses that may arise, as demonstrated today. He highlighted the numerous challenges faced by agriculture and emphasized the importance of insurance.
