Officials from the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) held a strategic meeting on 14 May 2026 with Cenfri and FSD Africa at Southern Sun Dar es Salaam, focusing on key developments and collaboration opportunities within the insurance sector.

The discussions focused on various areas including the establishment and strengthening of regulatory sandbox frameworks, enhancing partnerships and stakeholder engagements, improving the use of data analytics, and increasing public awareness on insurance services. Participants also explored strategies aimed at creating a more enabling environment for innovative insurance solutions that respond to the changing needs of Society.

Speaking during the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of collaboration between regulators, development partners, and industry stakeholders in accelerating digital transformation and expanding access to insurance services across the country.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by TIRA to strengthen the insurance sector through innovation, technology, and inclusive regulatory approaches that support sustainable sector development.
