TIRA AND ATI TOGETHER SUPPORT HANANG FLOOD VICTIMS

On December 10, 2023, The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority TIRA in collaboration with the Association of Tanzania Insurance Companies (ATI) together provided support for various items including food and equipment to the victims of the floods that occurred on December 2, 2023 at Hanang District in Manyara Region.  Handing over various items to the District Commissioner of Hanang Mrs. Janneth Mayanja, The Commissioner of Insurance Dr. Baghayo A. Saqware explained on how the insurance sector has received this sorrowful incident and that is why he reached the decision to invite the Insurance Companies to contribute what they have to help the Victims.

Among of the items delivered are: Rice 2400 kilos, Beans 1200 kilos, Sugar 100 kilos, Wheat 500 kilos, Cooking oil 1080 liters, Canned milk 48, food plates 208, Tea cups 202, 8 plastic water pipers with the capacity of eight buckets each, various clothes in 5 bags, children food supplement 22 kilos, 72 tea flasks, 12 soaps, 400 seedling soaps, and 72 bottles of hand washing soaps, 1200 packets of salt.

Whilst responding by giving thanks, Hon, Mrs. Janneth Mayanja, District Commissioner of Hanang said, the provided support by the insurance sector has a great extent to the victims, especially in considering the needs of young children by providing them with milk and food supplement. She continued by encouraging other Institutions and Individuals to follow the example of the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) and Association of Insurance companies (ATI) to come and volunteer for whatever they have to make better lives of the victims.
