Today, December 2, 2023, the Regional Commissioner of Tabora, Hon. Dr. Batilda Burian, officially inaugurated the office of the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) located in Tabora Region. This TIRA office also serves the regions of Kigoma and Katavi. Speaking during the launch, Dr. Batilda stated that the presence of the TIRA office in Tabora will inspire residents of the region to acquire various types of insurance, including agricultural, livestock, and fire insurance.

Commissioner of Insurance Dr. Baghayo Saqware emphasized TIRA's commitment to ensuring that Tanzanians have understanding of insurance, with the goal that by 2030, 80 percent of Tanzanians will have received education about insurance.

Deputy Commissioner of Insurance Khadija Said assured the residents of the Western Zone that TIRA will provide them with appropriate services to facilitate timely access to insurance needs.

The launch event for TIRA's offices was attended by various leaders from the Tabora Region, including party and government officials, the regional security committee, and motorcycle riders (bodaboda riders). The Western Zone is overseen by TIRA Manager Dr. Emmanuel Lupilya, who continues to provide insurance education through various groups.
