On June 26, 2023, Insurance Agents in the Country through their association (IAAT) under the leadership of Chairperson Mr. Sayi John Daudi held the 4th Annual General Meeting of 2023 at Ubungo Plaza Hall in Dar es Salaam. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various issues aimed at developing and strengthening the insurance market. However, during the meeting, various topics were presented including the Guidelines issued by the Authority, the implementation of the Standard Signboards for all insurance agents, and Amendments of the Insurance Act through the Finance Act No. 05 of 2022. On the other side, The Commissioner of Insurance Dr. Baghayo A. Saqware participated as a Guest of honor and was accompanied by some staff from the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA). The meeting was attended by various insurance agents from Mwanza, Mbeya, Morogoro, Arusha, Mtwara, Pwani, Dodoma, Dar es Salaam, and other regions.

In his speech, the Commissioner of Insurance urged participants to listen to the topics to be made as they are topics that are pertinent to the development of the insurance industry in the country, especially for Insurance Agents. In addition, Dr. Saqware used the opportunity to inform the Insurance Agents that, the Authority continues to expand the availability of services to Agents and other Insurance providers through the establishment of zonal offices which are; The Southern Zonal with offices in the Lindi Region, which will operate in Lindi, Mtwara and Ruvuma regions, the Eastern zonal in charge of Dar es Salaam, Morogoro and Ruvuma, as well as the Western zonal serving Tabora, Morogoro, and Katavi Regions.

The Commissioner of Insurance concluded by saying that, the Authority will continue to create an enabling environment for the Insurance market including issuing various guidelines that will bring efficiency to the Insurance sector.
